Run your team on Lome: roster, games and stats

A Team Board is a community board built for a youth sports team. It has everything a regular community board has, plus a roster, a schedule of games, a live game page for the sideline, and season stats that add up on their own.

Create a Team Board

  1. Go to Create and choose Team Board.
  2. Pick a name, color and picture for the team.
  3. Set the format: 3v3, 4v4, 5v5, 7v7, 9v9 or 11v11, whether there is a goalkeeper, whether you play halves or quarters, and how long each one is. The defaults are a goalkeeper, halves and 20 minutes.
  4. Add your players. First names are plenty — players are not Lome accounts and never receive email.
  5. Add any games you already know about, then finish. Kick-off times are in your team's local time, and a game is assumed to last an hour.

You can change the format later under Edit → Settings on the board. The number of players on the field applies to games you start after the change; games already played keep the format they were played with.

Team Boards count toward your plan's community board allowance. Every plan, including the free plan, includes one.

Roster and goalkeeper rotation

The Roster section lists your players with a jersey number and position if you want them. Use the menu on a player to edit, deactivate or delete them. A player who has already played a game is deactivated rather than deleted, so their stats stay in the season totals.

If you turn on Goalkeeper rotation in the board's settings, the roster shows who is next in goal and how many keeper minutes each player has so far. Drag the order to change it, and the lineup pre-fills the next keeper. After every game the player who kept goal moves to the back of the line.

Positions and formations (optional)

Both are off unless you turn them on under Edit → Settings on the board.

  • Track positions tags each field player as defense, midfield or forward on the lineup. Tap a starter's D / M / F to change it, substitutes take the tag of the player they replace, and the stats show minutes by position for each game and the season. Set a player's usual position on the roster and the lineup pre-fills it.
  • Formations is the coaching view, available once positions are on. Pick a formation for the team (say 2-3-1 for 7v7) as the default, change it on any game, and place players into named spots on a pitch diagram. Substitutes step into the spot of the player coming off.

Before a game

Open the game from the Games section. You will see the lineup: tap GK, Field, Bench or Out next to each player. The next keeper in the rotation is filled in for you, and Same as last game copies your previous lineup.

Kick off is available once you have exactly the right number of players on the field, including one goalkeeper if your format has one.

During a game

The live game page is made for a phone on the sideline:

  • Start, pause and End half (or End quarter) run the clock. The big number is the time in the current half or quarter; the game total sits underneath. The clock keeps running past regulation time (shown as 20:00 +1:30) until you end the period, so stoppage time counts. Between periods, Start 2nd half and its quarter equivalents pick it back up. Tap the clock to correct it.
  • Tap Goal to record who scored and who assisted. Save records a keeper save and Opponent goal the other side scoring.
  • Sub lets you swap players. Tap the player coming off, then the player going on. Playing time is tracked for everyone from the moment they step on.
  • End game closes the game and writes every player's stats for the season.

If your phone locks, nothing is lost: every tap is saved as it happens, and a co-host on another phone sees the same clock and score.

After a game

The played game shows the final score, player stats for that game and a timeline of everything that happened. Hosts can edit or delete any logged event, add a goal, save or substitution that was missed, set a player's minutes by hand, and change who started and the formation under Lineup & formation. Turn on Game awards in the board's settings to pick a Player of the game and a Heart of the game after each game.

Season stats and lines

The Stats section adds up goals, assists, saves, minutes, keeper minutes and plus/minus across every played game. Tap a player to see their game-by-game log.

Lines shows which groups of players have been on the field together and how the team did while they were out there. It fills in on its own as games are played.

Sharing with families

Sharing works the same way it does on any Lome board:

  • Share the board so families can see the schedule, roster and stats in one place. Invite them as members, or make the board public and send the link.
  • Share one game from the share button on the game itself. A public game link shows the lineup, the live score and the final stats, and updates while the game is on. Families do not need a Lome account to open it.

Anyone with the link can watch; only the board's hosts and co-hosts can change anything. Add another coach as a co-host and they get the same controls you have.

Common questions

Can a player be on two teams? Yes. Each Team Board has its own roster, so add them to both.

Can parents get a Lome account for their player? Players are not accounts. If you want a parent to be able to log in and see the board, invite the parent as a member of the board.

We play without a goalkeeper. Turn off the goalkeeper option in the board's settings. The GK controls and keeper stats disappear.

Our halves are not the same length as the default, or we play quarters. Set halves or quarters and their length in the board's settings, from 5 to 45 minutes. The clock and the period buttons use whatever you set. Games already played keep the format they were played with.
